I'm Planning To Study Copy Work . . . What's That Mean?

If you know me, I'm always looking for ways to improve my craft and voice when it comes to my writing. So I recently finished listening to a wonderful video (See below) where he talks about the benefit of doing copy work. Now, I'm not saying plagiarism. I'm talking about studying authors you look up to. So I've decided I'll do this. I have three authors who I really love their writing style.

The three are:

  1. Ransom Riggs

  2. Adrienne Young

  3. Helen Hoang

All of them are masters at what they do. I love their books and their writing style. If you threw all three together, that's the voice I'd love to have.

So I've decided to implement Copy Work into my daily writing practice too so I can learn from these writers as well as just enjoy their works.

I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I believe I'll start with Helen Hoang's writing style first.
